DEWI Banner

The DEWI  banner was made in 1997 by Pam Berkley, Eileen Doran,
Marion Pocock and Birgit Stone to commemorate the founding of
Dormans Evening WI in February 1964.  It depicts in beautiful appliqué
and embroidery the Parish Room where DEWI meets.

The cherries are a symbol of Dormansland "The Cherry Village" of years gone by.
There used to be orchards of cherry trees along West Street and The Platt.
On Cherry Sunday in June visitors would come to the village to buy bags of cherries.
